At Amicus Mentor, our crisis management experts
provide consultancy and operational training on the best possible means of
prevention, response and recovery for problems as wide-ranging as
kidnapping, extortion and ransom threats, political detention of employees,
product contamination, marine and aviation security, environmental disasters
and even emergency evacuation.
In addition, we offer 24hr incident response
anywhere in the world, helping to drive, manage and control any incident and
providing proper analysis, Incident Control Centres and third party liaison
between relevant bodies such as police, religious leaders, government, and
non-governmental organisations and crucially, anxious family members, whose
needs we always regard as paramount.

Prevention: Accidents and incidents
DO happen. Never fall into the trap of thinking they cannot happen to you. And
if they do, always remember that professional, experienced handling can save
them from becoming a crisis.
Audits: At Amicus Mentor we can cure
but we prefer to prevent. Risk, threat and vulnerability audits enable you to
see how susceptible your business is to all of those influences which are
outside of your control. In our experience organisations are not only unaware
of a number of risk areas in which they could be affected, but also of the
consequences of such risk. Indeed, all too often they are so profits-focused
that they lose site of the bigger picture and what exactly is going on around
them.
Planning & Rehearsal:
Amicus Mentor consultants can prepare audits, reports, contingency plans,
crisis management plans and in-house crisis management teams. We offer
simulated incident-training at local or corporate level, tailored to your needs
and enabling you to test your systems and staff and to learn from mistakes in a
controlled environment. Added to this, we run regular verification exercises to
check that systems continue to work months and years down the line. Time spent
in such planning, preparation and rehearsal not only pays dividends ten-fold
when the unexpected strikes but at a cost which dwarfs any sums you could spend
when reacting out of panic and ignorance.
Response: If you find yourself in a
tight spot Amicus Mentor can respond immediately. We can get to most places
across the globe within 24 hours. We are able to analyse, investigate and
advise on how to manage and drive a crisis situation. Our contacts enable us to
act as conduits between third party bodies and to provide immediate security
support if required.
Crisis PR: The media
can so easily turn a crisis into a disaster. They can either be for or against
you - rarely in between - and they can even change sides, according to the
public mood, no matter what their initial stance. Once in the public domain,
50% of your problems become press-related, whilst only 50% will relate to the
situation itself. Crises require a special PR input and we can not only train,
but advise at those crucial moments when the crisis is in full swing.
ICC:365 (Incident Control Cell -
365): Amicus Mentor's Incident Control Cell: 365 is a fully operational
Crisis Centre designed to act as a control centre and coordination point for
any given incident or crisis: from an oil rig accident to an natural disaster.
The ICC can be fully activated with 4 hours and has a dedicated line,
operational 24 hours a day. The services offered vary from giving advice to
frantic expatriates faced with murder threats, liaising with concerned
relatives, arranging medical evacuation, chartering aircraft for evacuation,
liaising with government and other emergency services and sending in
consultants and security guards and other relevant specialists. Post
Incident:
Recovery & Counselling: It is
not our policy to pack up as soon as a crisis is over, leaving everyone
struggling to pick up the pieces. Rather, we ensure not only that your business
gets back to normal as soon as possible, but that your staff and their families
receive all the appropriate support and liaison during the critical time ahead.
Included in this are post-incident recovery and
counselling services (both medical and psychological) which are fundamental to
real and long-term rehabilitation.
